I've been involved with Doncaster Rovers since 1999 when I enrolled my son in the under 8 team. Doncaster Rovers are one of the largest junior football (or soccer as it used to be known here) in Victoria. I served on the committee for three years and have helped administratively as a team manager or age group coordinator most years.
This year, 2007, the club, on the back of a hugely popular Word Cup Campaign and the success of the local side, Melbourne Victory in the 'A' League, were expecting a big increase in numbers. In the past, there would usually be only one or two under 16 sides, but this year, with nearly 50 players registered, there would be three teams.
